Ethiopian rebel group fighting the regime claimed Success



EPPF says it has gained success in Humera

Ethiopian People’s Patriotic Front (EPPF), a rebel group that works to unseat the Ethiopian government through an armed struggle, said that it has attacked government soldiers and militias in Humera, Northern Ethiopia on June 1 and 2, 2013.

EPPF said in a statement that the Front has warred with the 35th Brigade of the Ethiopian Defense Force and militia for eight rounds. The Front said 148 soldiers have been killed and 374 were wounded from the Government’s side. It has also captured 31 Kalashnikovs, 47 hand grenades, 2 snipers and different military equipment.

While on June 1 and June 2, 2013, EPPF said, it has killed 192 government soldiers injuring 440.
ESAT’s effort to speak to government officials regarding the claims made by EPPF was unsuccessful.
